Privacy Policy

Overview

This privacy policy applies to the Specli app, published by Avila Apps LLC ("we," "us," or "our"). Specli helps laboratory and facilities teams capture equipment and their facility requirements and turn them into planning documents. We collect only what's necessary to provide the service, and we do not sell your data or use it for advertising.

Information We Collect

Information you provide:

• Account information — your first and last name, email address, and a password (stored only in hashed form)
• Profile and team photos you choose to upload
• Content you create — projects, rooms, and equipment records including tags, manufacturer, model and serial numbers, dimensions, electrical specs, facility requirements, notes, and photos of equipment or data plates
• Team and sharing data — the email addresses you use to invite people and the roles you assign

Collected automatically:

• Basic technical and diagnostic data needed to operate and secure the service
• Subscription status (which tier) — payments are processed by Apple; we never receive or store your card details

Device permissions: with your permission, Specli uses your camera and photo library so you can scan data plates and attach photos. These are used only for the features you invoke.

How We Use Your Information

• To create and sync your projects and equipment across your devices and team
• To generate your exports (spreadsheets and AutoCAD drawings)
• To operate accounts, teams, invitations, and project sharing
• To process subscriptions and enforce plan features and seat limits
• To send transactional emails (confirmation, password reset, invitations)
• To maintain security, prevent abuse, and improve the app

Automatic Dimension Lookup (AI Feature)

When you use the optional dimension-lookup feature, Specli sends the equipment type, manufacturer, and model text you entered to our backend, which queries a third-party AI provider (Anthropic) to estimate typical dimensions. We do not send your name, email, or other personal information for this feature. Returned dimensions are estimates for planning convenience and are not guaranteed to be accurate — always verify against the manufacturer's specifications.

How Your Information Is Stored & Shared

Your account and content are stored using Supabase (database and file storage) and processed through our backend on Vercel, over encrypted connections. Access to your team's data is restricted by row-level security so only you and the people you share with can see it.

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with people you choose (your team and project collaborators); with service providers that help run Specli (Supabase, Vercel, Apple, Resend for email, and Anthropic for the dimension feature); for legal reasons if required; or in a business transfer, in which case we will notify you.

Data Retention & Deletion

We keep your information for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from within the app (Account settings), which permanently removes your profile and the teams and projects you own. You may also request deletion by emailing avila.apps.llc@gmail.com.

Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information. You can update most information in the app, delete your account in Account settings, or contact us to exercise these rights.

Children's Privacy

Specli is a professional tool intended for adults and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect their information. Contact us if you believe we have.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected in an updated effective date and, where appropriate, in the app or by email.
